TVs Greatest Geeks

Fall 2007 just may be the Season of the Geek. NBC offers us "Chuck," which plunges an electronics store nerd into the world of espionage when national secrets get downloaded into his brain. The CW gives "Beauty and the Geek" its first fall start. And CBS is bringing us "The Big Bang Theory," a new sitcom in which a couple of junior Einsteins drool over their not-so-bright-but-very-hot neighbor.

As good as these characters may be, they'll have a long way to go to measure up to some of the biggest geeks TV has presented to us. Over the years, we've seen all manner of the species homo dweebius maximus. Here's a closer look at some of the greatest geeks of all time.
