Gustav nears Jamaica; New Orleans keeps watch

Tropical Storm Gustav surged through the Caribbean Thursday morning toward Jamaica, jogging a little farther west-southwest than previously forecast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The storm, with winds now up to 70 mph, was 45 miles east of Kingston, the capital of of Jamaica, early Thursday afternoon and was expected to continue on its march toward the Gulf of Mexico.
