Snoop Dogg, Duckdown Records


Snoop Dogg is hoping his third foray into the horror genre will be the charm. The rapper, actor and executive will release the urban horror anthology Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror on September 11. Much like Bones and Murder Was the Case before it, Hood of Horror finds "Tha' Doggfather" as both a narrator and main character.

Brooklyn's Boot Camp Clik continues their bid to be the largest collectives in Hip-Hop History. The independent arm of the BCC, Duckdown Records, will release the debut album from Special Teamz on September 25. Special Teamz is comprised of Boston's Edo. G, Jaysaun and Slaine. While each has enjoyed solo success at some level, the three will combine their talents with Duckdown's proven track record for a collective push this fall. The album, entitled Sterotypez, will feature guest spots from Devin The Dude and Sean Price as well as production from DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Marco Polo.

Foxy Brown Isolated At Rikers, "They're Just Keeping Her Away From Everybody"


Former inmates of Rikers Island, where a pregnant Foxy Brown is currently being held, claim that the Brooklyn bred rapper is kept isolated and is desperate for human contact.

According to The New York Post, ex-inmates Teresa Pandolfo and Donalay Thomas revealed that they were threatened by jail guards not to look or talk to Brown, who spends her days in a cell reading the bible and complaining about her hair weave.

Wendy Williams Taps Robin Givens For Biopic: "I Know She's Only 90 Lbs [But] Who Do I Look Like?"


With the film based on her life due in theatres early 2008, SOHH caught up with Wendy Williams to discuss the arduous casting process and to learn how Robin Givens landed the star role, playing radio queen.

Last year Williams held casting calls throughout the country searching for an actress to portray her in Queen of Media, a full-length feature film based on her New York Times best seller, Wendy's Got the Heat. The casting process turned up a lot of Wendy look-a-likes but their mouthpieces just didn't match up.

Police Admit Substance Found In DMX's House Not Drugs


Police that raided the Cave Creek, Arizona home of rapper DMX in search of abused dogs have revealed that the half-pound of "suspected" illegal narcotics found in his home were in fact, not illegal drugs.

According to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, police raided the rapper's home last Friday (August 24), after receiving complaints from his neighbors that a number of dogs were being abused at his home.

Lil' Wayne Hit With $1 Million Dollar Lawsuit Over Morgan U Incident


A woman who was trampled during a concert at Morgan State University featuring Lil' Wayne is suing the rapper for $1 million dollars, claiming she was injured after he threw a wad of money into the crowd.

Tyrique Layne filed the lawsuit yesterday (August 28) against Lil' Wayne, Cash Money Records, Universal Records and Lil' Wayne's touring company, Young Money Touring.

Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man has joined the cast of Hunting and Fishing, a spoof of the hit movie 300.

Dogg Pound Daz Dillinger is preparing to release a new solo album titled Gangsta Party on September 25. Gangsta Party features guest appearances by rappers DPG members Snoop Dogg and Kurupt, as well as E-40, Young Noble, Jagged Edge, Redman, Spice 1, Jayo Felony, Keak Da Sneak, Yukmouth and others.

Up and coming rapper Maino has signed with major label Atlantic Records and is in the studio working on his new album, Death Before Dishonor.

The Retro Television Network recently acquired the broadcast rights to the Emmy nominated children's show "Hip Hop Harry."

Juelz Santana Launches Rock Star Clothing Line, Readies New Album


Dipset MC Juelz Santana is set to add fashion designer to his list of achievements, as he's gearing up to launch his RoyElz clothing line this winter.

Reportedly modeled after Santana's own personal style and rock star look, RoyElz will be designed by Mr. Slim Mils and will make it's debut at the famed Magic's Fall Marketplace convention in Las Vegas this February. The line was slated to be unveiled next week at Magic's Spring Marketplace but was pushed back due to a family member's terminal illness.

Afeni Shakur's Life Story Comes To The Big Screen In 'Dear Mama'


Young Noble of Tupac's group The Outlawz and upcoming director Omar "Ice Man" Sharif (American Rap Stars) have announced that their production company, HollyHood Filmz, has acquired the motion picture rights to Dear Mama: The Life Story of Afeni Shakur.

Dear Mama, which is being produced in conjunction with Afeni Shakur's Amaru Entertainment, will focus on Shakur's childhood in Lumberton, North Carolina, as well as her involvement as a leader of The Black Panther Party.

Police Find Half-Pound Of Suspected Drugs In DMX's Home


Police who raided the Cave Creek, Arizona home of superstar rapper DMX have revealed that they have found a half-pound of suspected illegal narcotics, adding to to a list of charges that could be possibly filed against the rapper.

Officers in Maricopa County raided DMX's house on Friday (August 24), after neighbors complained to police that dogs were being subjected to the extreme Arizona heat and that the animals were constantly barking and being mistreated.
