Nick Cannon Splits With Fiancee, Prosecutors drop charges against Jadakiss


Nick Cannon has split up with his fiancee, Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, according to People. "Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends," Ebanks' representative Melissa Raubvogel told the magazine.

A year after Jadakiss was arrested in Yonkers, New York, and hit with drug and gun charges, prosecutors have dropped the case against the rapper (born Jason T. Phillips) and his co-defendant, Kristian Smith.

RZA Talks '8 Diagrams, Wu Launching Nationwide Tour

Rapper Prodigy Starts Gun Trial, Faces 15 Years In Prison


Mobb Deep's Prodigy's trial for handgun possession started yesterday in New York.

Police stopped the G-Unit member's Chevy Suburban last October, after they witnessed Prodigy driving the opposite direction on a one way street, in an attempt to secure a parking spot in the Chelsea district of Manhattan.

Fall 2007 just may be the Season of the Geek. NBC offers us "Chuck," which plunges an electronics store nerd into the world of espionage when national secrets get downloaded into his brain. The CW gives "Beauty and the Geek" its first fall start. And CBS is bringing us "The Big Bang Theory," a new sitcom in which a couple of junior Einsteins drool over their not-so-bright-but-very-hot neighbor.

iPhone owner sues Apple for $1 million


A New York woman is so angry at Apple Inc. for lopping $200 off the price of the iPhone that she's filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million in damages.

Dongmei Li of Queens, New York, claimed the company violated price discrimination laws when it slashed the price of the 8-gigabyte iPhone by a third, from $599 to $399, within two months of the gadget's June debut.

Apple lowered the iPhone's price on September 5 and also said it would stop selling the $499 4-gigabyte model. Hundreds of early customers who paid full price didn't expect a reduction so soon and complained.

Jamie Foxx's childhood lessons loom large


All Jamie Foxx really needed to know about show business he learned as a child.

Afrika Bambaataa, Beasties rock hall nominees


Madge joins heartland rocker John Mellencamp, the puckish rappers Beastie Boys and premier dance acts Donna Summer and Chic among the nine nominees for the hall. The five leading vote-getters will be inducted in the annual ceremony March 10, 2008, at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Saigon Finally Gets A Release Date To Tell His 'Greatest Story'


After months of bad news and conflict, MC's debut is set for December 4.

Saigon's been in the news a lot lately, and not always under the best circumstances.

In August he was pulled over for making an illegal turn and subsequently arrested for carrying a weapon. The rapper was driving someone else's car at the time and claimed he was unaware that there was a pocket knife stored in its console. Saigon is due back in court to face the charge on December 5.

Off-Duty Cadet Stabbed At Jay-Z's 40/40 Club


Jay-Z's Manhattan sports bar, the 40/40 club, was the site of a stabbing this weekend.

According to the New York Post, Christopher Harris, an off-duty Correction Academy cadet, was stabbed in the eye on Saturday morning (September 29) at 1:30 a.m. following a dispute with a fellow 40/40 club goer.

LA County Hit With Lawsuit Over Funkmaster Flex Car Show


A concert promotions firm in San Diego has hit Los Angeles County with an $800,000 lawsuit, claiming the Los Angeles County Fair Association violated the First and Fourteenth Amendments by canceling a Hip-Hop car show featuring DJ Funkmaster Flex because the music was "offensive."

Imagine Media Group LLC, entered into a contract with The Los Angeles County Fair Association on March 9 to host the Funkmaster Flex Car & Bike Show August 11-12 at the Pomona Fairplex, which is operated by The Los Angeles County Fair Association in Pomona, California.
