Cheap date -- what to do?

Police seek Nebraska teacher, 25, and 13-year-old boy


Authorities searched Thursday for a 13-year-old boy and a female middle school teacher believed to be on the run from central Nebraska after police began investigating whether the pair had an intimate relationship.

Kelsey Peterson, 25, a sixth-grade math teacher and basketball coach at Lexington Middle School, was placed on administrative leave last week. A judge issued an arrest warrant Monday charging her with kidnapping, child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

T-Pain Arrested In Florida; Tops Ringtone Sales


R&B singer and producer T-Pain was arrested this morning (November 2) in Florida by Leon County Sheriff officers for outstanding warrants in Tallahassee.

According to reports, T-Pain, born Faheem Najm, is charged with a non-moving traffic violation and driving with a suspended license.

Katt Williams Prepares to Release New American Hustle DVD


Comedian Katt Williams is giving fans another look into his form of laugh making with his new DVD, Katt Williams: American Hustle (The Movie).

Rap collective G-Unit (50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck) has announced that they will debut their new video "Feel Good" exclusively on the Internet.

"Feel Good," which debuts on AllHipHop.com today (November 1) at 4:00 PM
EST, is the first single off G-Unit's upcoming, as yet untitled mixtape. According to G-Unit, it is the first time in history a video will be premiered before the actual song.

TV bounty hunter apologizes for using 'N-word'


Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman has apologized for repeatedly using a racial slur in a profanity-laced tirade during a private phone conversation with his son that was recorded and posted online.

Chapman, star of A&E's hit reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," issued a statement apologizing for the comments after The National Enquirer posted a clip of the conversation in which he uses the N-word in reference to his son's girlfriend.

Brief News On Cash Money Records


Lil' Wayne, who is credited with introducing the term 'bling,' on B.G.'s Chopper City In the Ghetto album, is being sued by Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry in Florida's Miami-Dade Circuit Court for allegedly skipping payments on a diamond ring and a necklace purchased in October. The suit alleges that Wayne (born Dwayne Michael Carter) agreed to pay for the jewelry in monthly installments, but no more payments have been received since an initial check for $24,000 was delivered on Oct. 12 followed by a postdated check for January 2008.

Ja Rule Admits Real Reason For Album Pushback & It's Not Sample Clearances


Ja Rule's highly anticipated album, Mirror, has been pushed back again. This time, with no stated release date.

Ja told SOHH in an exclusive interview, he'd rather wait until the competition weans to release his disc.

"I was going to put the album out November 13 but I decided to wait," Ja told SOHH. "The new year is fresh. It's only a couple of months away. So, since everything is fresh and new, what I'm doing, I felt, I'ma let it linger. Plus, [there's] a lot of traffic right now. It's that fourth quarter traffic, you know what I mean? It's gonna be real heavy out there so I'ma let all the heavy heavys do their thing and @#!* and I'ma kick it off real fresh in the new year and splash. That's how I'm feeling right now with the project."

Da Brat Arrested For Smashing A Bottle Over Woman's Head


Atlanta rapper Da Brat is facing felony assault charges over an incident in a DeKalb County nightclub yesterday (Oct. 31) morning.

Police claim Da Brat, argued with an unnamed waitress at Studio 72, a new club recently opened by Jermaine Dupri.

According to witnesses, after the argument escalated into a shoving match, Da Brat, 33, allegedly grabbed a bottle of rum and hit the waitress in the face.

Ludacris to Perform at AIDS Benefit Concert in South Africa


Rapper Ludacris has agreed to perform at Nelson Mandela's fifth "46664" AIDS benefit concert. The concert will take place on December 1 (World AIDS day)in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The concert, named after the prison number Mandela wore during his 27 years imprisoned on Robben Island, is the result of an organization Mandela foundned in 2002.

The concert will feature other artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Peter Gabriel and The Goo-Goo Dolls, in addition to local acts.

Chingy to Release "Hate It or Love It" in December


After his highly publicized departure from Disturbing Tha Peace, Chingy surprised fans everywhere by returning to Ludacris' label in August.
"I don't think Capitol really knew how to work urban artists," told Chingy to Billboard.com in August. "They're really stuck on pop and they didn't know how to market me. I ain't knocking them because that's where I started, but I think that's why they fired a lot of people in the L.A. offices recently. I'm glad I'm off the label."

50 Cent Teams With Pontiac For Custom Car


Rapper 50 Cent has teamed with Pontiac to produce his own customized G8 sedan it was revealed last night (October 30) at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

The rapper unveiled a prototype of the customized Pontiac G8, which was designed with Will Castro from Unique Autosports.

The sedan features custom paint, 22 inch rims, a customized exhaust system, leather interior, an 800 watt system, low-profile Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires and other features.

Tony Yayo Assault Trial Slated For January


A federal judge set a trial date for rapper Tony Yayo who is accused of assaulting the 14-year-old son of music executive Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond.

Yayo, born Marvin Bernard, was in court yesterday (October 30), where a judge set a trial date of January 10.

The rapper is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, assault in the 3rd Degree, and harassment in the 2nd Degree.

Prison Inmate Lied in Recanted Testimony, According to B.I.G. Estate Motion


The recanted testimony of a man involved in the still-unsolved murder of rap icon Notorious B.I.G. is the focus of a newly filed federal court motion by the rapper's estate.

The motion, which was filed Monday (Oct. 29), claims that Waymond Anderson was lying when he recanted his testimony in the case that implicated former Los Angeles Police Department officer Rafael Perez in the March 9, 1997 killing of B.I.G. (born Christopher Wallace). According to the Associated Press, the motion asked for Anderson's phone and prison visitation records.

Anderson, is a former R&B artist currently serving a life sentence for murder in a separate case.

Cheney hunting trip under fire for Confederate flag


Vice President Dick Cheney spent about eight hours hunting Monday at a secluded Hudson Valley gun club where well-heeled enthusiasts shoot ducks and pheasants.

Although a heavy police presence kept the media and curious local residents at a distance, Cheney's visit did stir up a bit of controversy when a New York Daily News photographer snapped a picture of a small Confederate flag hanging inside a garage on the hunt club property.

Jim Jones To Release "Harlem's American Gangster"


Hot 97's Miss Info reports that Jim Jones will release a free album entitled Harlem's American Gangsta on Nov. 6. The mixtape-style album will be hosted by former Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash. According to Miss Info, Jones is looking to create some competition between Dash's Nicky Barnes film, Mr. Untouchable and American Gangster, which is centered on his rival Frank Lucas. For his part, Jones says he doesn't care for either of the former drug kingpins.

2Pac Returns, Drops Greatest Hits Comp


After having passed away over 10 years ago, Tupac is set to release his ninth album from the grave entitled The Best Of 2Pac.

The album will be a double disc collection from the West Coast MC and will feature many of Pac's biggest hits spanning his entire career including "California Love," "Brenda's Got A Baby" and "Keep Ya Head Up." Dr. Dre Headed Back To Court Over Previous Privacy Invasion Case


Super producer Dr. Dre may be hauled back into court for previous privacy invasion case for an incident that occurred over 7 years ago.

Three former City of Detroit employees plan on suing Dre (born André Romell Young), who they claim illegally videotaped a conversation without their knowledge, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Nas Connects Barack Obama's Prez Run To Current Noose Craze, New CD "Ni**er" Cosigned By Def Jam


Despite the growing controversy over his upcoming album title, Ni**er, Nas continues to defend the title choice by speaking out about today's racially tense climate.

While critics have attacked the "N"-word title as derogatory, Nas' plans for the new CD appear to have the opposite intention. According to a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nas initially planned to give the title to his last album, Hip Hop Is Dead, but he found the timing was off.

Kelis Dropped From Jive


The singer, known for her massive 2003 hit Milkshake, as well as the wife of rapper Nas is now officially off of the record label. Her most recent album, 2006's Kelis Was Here was met with little success - a possible reason for her being dropped.

"It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn't signed to and without a champion," said Kelis' manager, Jeff Rabhan, according to Entertainment Weekly. "She's a different kind of artist — very image and style-driven. It's either something you get or you don't."

More Fallout From The Upcoming Nas Album


New York State Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries (D-57 District) has demanded that the New York Comptroller withdraw the $84 million state pension fund invested in Universal Music Group and its parent company Vivendi if Nas is allowed to release his new album under the title N****r.

The withdrawal is part of the "Abolish The N-Word" initiative lead by Jeffries and Rev. Clinton M. Miller of Brooklyn's Brown Memorial Baptist Church. The idea has also been supported by the likes of the National Action Network's Rev. Al Sharpton and N.Y. State Senator Antoine Thompson (D-60th District).

Tupac Amaru Shakur Center For Arts Vandalism Update, More Incidents of Race


Earlier this week, we reported on the hanging of a noose around the neck of a statue of Tupac Shakur at the Tupac Amaru Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Today, new developments in the case dispute the theory that a noose was found at the scene.

Dekalb County Police investigating the incident are now disputing the initial claim and according to spokesman Marcus Hodge, a piece of orange nylon and a wooden cross were found around the neck of the deceased rapper.

Kanye West Pens Path To Success In New Book


Kanye West is following in his mom's footsteps, with his own book to be released in January entitled Thank You And You're Welcome!

Not to be done by his SoundScan rival, just days after 50 Cent released his latest book, 50 X 50, Kanye offers some insight into his own forthcoming page-turner. Kanye's mother, Dr. Donda West, released Raising Kanye earlier this year, as SOHH previously reported. And now the Chi-town rapper has teamed up with co-author J. Sakiya Sandifer to pen a paperback of his own stories and quotes.
